2/28/2016 0 Comments With intention and without fearA glorious walk around the Twin Peaks area of San Francisco yesterday with the husband and baby led us to fantasizing about living in some of the amazing real estate available to the 1%. "What would it be like to have that VIEW?!" I thought. And, "Oh to be surrounded by such gorgeous things each day." It's always fun to fantasize, but really, when we got home, we realized we already have all the things we were fantasizing about (and we are in the 99%, obviously.) How did we get to be so lucky? Well, it wasn't luck. We worked at it. We have nice furniture we love but we bought it one piece at-a-time, off of craigslist. These things bring us joy to look at and make use feel as though we weren't contributing too much to the materialistic world. We have a view, but we choose to rent because we'd never be able to afford the view if we wanted to own. This allows us to live day-to-day without worrying about the housing market's swings, or our ability to pick-up-and-move. We don't fear the future because we trust the present. And if we trust it now, why would tomorrow be any different? Without waxing too poetic, I am simply reveling in the following thought: Living with intention allows you to live without fear. Call me crazy, but I think the root of all fear is living inauthentically. Let's explore some off-the-top-of-my-head examples: Fear of not getting everything done in your day= Fear that you can't do all that you want to do. Solution: Choose each and every activity with intention, thus accomplishing every joyful thing you can possibly squeeze into your day. Fear of being abandoned = Fear of not feeling that deep, life-grounding connection to others, life and the world. Solution: Choose your relations. Find people with whom you can connect deeply. Release those who cause you to fear abandonment. Fear of poverty/that you'll never have enough = Inability to enjoy all that you already have. Solution: Shower your things (possessions, relationships, all your daily tasks and moments) with gratitude. Chose the things that come into your life with intention and honesty. Fear of dying = Fear of a life not lived fully and authentically. Solution: Well, this one's pretty self-explanatory. #lifeauthentically #liveyourtruth #trustyourself #doonlythatwhichbringsyoujoy
